OUR MISSION

The primary mission of the Van Wert County Economic Development Office is to facilitate the the creation and retention of quality jobs in Van Wert County. My office utilizes business development resources and strategies to attract new businesses and assist existing businesses in meeting their growth potential.

Through the development of strategic public/private partnerships, we work to leverage existing resources and provide hands-on asisstance to business startups, expansions or relocations. Our Economic Development Action Plan, developed with input from the public and business community, focuses primarily on value added initiatives that assist in reducing the cost and increasing the productivity of Van Wert businesses.

Outreach is a very important aspect of my office. A bi-monthly newsletter “Van Wert County Economic Development Update”, is sent to over 300 businesses and nonprofits throughout the county to highlight job creation, training and community development activities.

The office is funded cooperatively by the Ohio State University Extension, the City of Van Wert and the County of Van Wert. This important collaboration between OSU Extension and the community provides a unique alliance and opportunity to tap into research based resources and best practices for immediate implementation at the County level.
